Hi, my name is Ben. I'm a senior in high school, and I love to cook and learn about food. From its history to the ways in which science describes its behavior, food interests me in multiple ways, and my goal is to share this love with others through this website. As part of my senior project, a semester program that allows students to design an independent study, I chose to research global fermentation methods, documenting their history, cultural significance, science, and how they are used. I also aimed to include recipes that feature fermented products, and suggest ways in which the methods can be applied to different ingredients, not just traditional ones. It is my wish that we learn more about fermentation, as it holds significant health, preservation and environmental benefits, and also tastes damn good. I hope you enjoy!
